Arturo Herrera

Arturo Herrera is an interdisciplinary artist based in Detroit, Michigan. Herrera explores issues across national boundaries, including the politics of race and language, borders, and self-disclosure of sexual orientation. He received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in fine art in Canada, at the University of Windsor, with concentrations in sculpture, photography, and performance art.

Herrera’s most recent presentation was at the University of Michigan, where he was a visiting artist to the Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design – Studio art 4D. Previously, his work has been presented at the Detroit Institute of Arts and the Venice International Performance Art Week in Venice, Italy.
