https://www.evelynficarra.net/Evelyn Ficarra is a composer, sound artist and improviser. She has a strong focus on electro-acoustic and collaborative work and has made music for dance, music theatre, multi media, experimental film, radio, installation and the concert hall. Her music has been heard in concert halls, theatres, music festivals, film festivals, on television and in radio broadcasts in the UK, Europe, the Americas, Australia and the Far East. Current preoccupations include explorations of the ‘sound object’ (both physical and acousmatic) in different contexts; explorations of audiovisual time-lapse, and experiments with robots in performance. Recent works include O, One; a five minute opera for two Nao robots and cello (2017); Summer, Winter, Spring a performance / installation / film with video artist Ian Winters (2018) and Broken Open, an audiovisual installation exploring sound objects and memory. Evelyn is currently a Senior Lecturer in Music at the University of Sussex.
