Ian Winters

Ian Winters is a video & media artist working at the intersections of physical performance, installations / architectural form, and time-based media. In addition to individual work he often collaborates with com-posers and choreographers to create staged and site-specific media environments through performance, visual and acoustic media. He teaches and lectures widely on intersection of live media, installation, and performance and is a 2018-2020 visiting research fellow at the University of Sussex Humanities Lab and co-director of the MilkBar in Richmond, CA. Recent awards include Creative Work Fund, Rainin, Southern Exposure, & Zellerbach foundation funding, a 2018 EMPAC commission, Atlantic Center for the Arts master artist along with residencies at Djerassi Resident Arts Program, University of Sussex, Duke, Amherst and Earthdance. He studied video, performance and photography at the SMFA-Boston and Tufts University. His work both solo and collaborative has been shown at venues such as EMPAC, Kennedy Center, and many more.
