SUNY Oswego
Rebecca Mushtare is an experience designer and installation artist. Her work explores privilege, power dynamics, and access. Currently, she is an associate professor in graphic design, the associate director of the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching, and the coordinator of the Faculty Accessibility Fellowship program at the State University of New York at Oswego.
Rebecca has research interests in accessibility, design for older adults, and design for civic engagement. She collaborates with her students on creative community projects that address these issues including, most recently, Vote Oswego—a nonpartisan voter mobilization campaign, and Recollection: Storytelling through Mementos—a non-digital interactive exhibition designed with and for older adults that is currently on a one-year tour of adult care facilities in Central New York.
